수익을 보장받는 것이 아니라, 돈을 벌 수 있는 지식을 보장받는 것이다. 이런 비법 전수 프로그램은 대개 만족스럽지 못하고, 점차 더 비싼 수업을 듣게 되는 경우가 파다하다.

그리고 코칭 사기를 하는 사람들은 아래 2단계의 수법을 쓴다.

1단계: 황홀한 보장 - 혹하는 이야기와 성공한 구매자의 증언

It's one of the reasons it's often very difficult to prosecute people for fraud.The evidence often cuts more than one way.

The issue often truns on the intent. 

 

And just because there are laws againist false advertising, that doesn't mean you can't embellish. It's called Puffery.

It can be acceptable to exaggerate, as long as you keep it vague and subjective, or can claim no reasonable buyer would take it seriously.

 

허위 광고에 대한 법 규정이 있다고 과장하지 말란 법은 없죠. 이를 과대광고라고 합니다. 광고를 과장할 수 있되, 내용이 애매모호하고 주관적이어야 하는 거예요. 혹은 누가 봐도 터무니없게 만들거나요. 

 

It's often really hard to tell where the scam ends and puffery begins. A better way to put it, it's really hard to tell where puffery ends and fraud begins.

종종 어디까지가 사기고 어디서부터 과장인지 분별하기 어려워요. 정정하죠. 어디까지가 과장이고 어디서부터 사기인지 분별이 어렵습니다.

And if you don't then have a basic sense of trust, you're gonna be spending an awful lot of time trying to decide whether the person you're talking to is telling you the truth or not. 
You're gonna spend an awful lot of time investigating whether the thing you're about to purchase is the genuine article or not.

기본적인 신뢰감조차 갖지 못하게 되다면, 어마어마한 시간을 들여 상대의 말이 진짜인지 아닌지 고민해야겠죠. 또한 어마어마한 시간을 들여 사려는 물건이 진짜인지 아닌지 조사해야 할 겁니다.
